Brazilian Skills Skool
The central philosophy of Brazilian Skills Skool is to encourage youth soccer players to spend more time working individually with the ball to develop their skill level and overall technical ability. All our structured training has this in mind and at our training almost all the time will be spend with a ball at your feet. Our program uses the unique and special characteristics of the ball as a development tool for progressive player development. For developing quick feet, close dribbling and passing skills we have found nothing better than using Futebol de Salao ball. Players at Brazilian Skills Skool spend roughly two-thirds of their time working with a size three Futebol de Salao ball and the remaining third with a conventional ball working on areas such as long range passing, heading, shooting and game-like situations.
Our primary objective of the program is focused on fully developing the technical skills of each player. Technical skills from basic to complex are broken down to fun learnable phases for players and then these skills are demonstrated and re-enforced until the players become accomplished at performing these skills first as individuals with the ball (no pressure) and gradually against other players (limited pressure) and later in games (direct/full pressure).
We believe that not enough youth soccer players spend enough time training on their individual technical ability, they may spend enough time playing games, but generally players don’t spend enough time on their skills and thus at Brazilian Skills Skool we have a full curriculum for players from 6 years old to 18 years old whereby an increased duration of actual time spent training and working with the ball is a crucial element in our work.
At Brazilian Skills Skool we strongly encourage the ethos that it is vitally important for children to become good people before they can become good soccer players. This is something that we full believe in and in the future we hope that people will take notice of this as much as the fantastic technical players that the program is developing.
Skills Badges
This scheme has been introduced to reward players for their hard work and clearly identify and re-enforce successful player progression. We hope that this concept gives the players the encouragement to fully develop their potential and to push back the boundaries of what is expected to be possible with regards to sporting ability. The scheme is graded from level one blue award through to level five gold award. All players within the program must start at level one and will progress at their own individual rate as the program develops.
